Kalani Calderon is a proud James Logan High School alumnus and a member of the New Haven Schools Foundation Board of Directors. A lifelong New Haven student, Kalani has a strong connection to the schools and community that helped shape him and is passionate about finding ways to give back.

As a student at James Logan, Kalani developed an early interest in leadership and community engagement. He served as ASB President, worked with the Superintendent and district staff to help launch New Haven Day, and received the prestigious Seoane-James Award. After graduating in 2023, he attended California State University, Fullerton, where he pursued studies in English and Entertainment & Hospitality Management.

Kalani’s relationship with NHSF began as a scholarship recipient and has grown into an active leadership role. As a board member, he helps lead the Foundation’s Alumni Connection program, working to strengthen relationships with New Haven alumni and create new ways for graduates to reconnect with their schools and community. He also supports NHSF events, helping with planning, outreach, promotion, and on-site activities.

Professionally, Kalani works as an Account Manager with Towne at Southern California Hospital at Culver City, where his role combines client service, relationship management, communication, and day-to-day operational coordination. His professional experience, combined with his volunteer leadership, reflects a growing focus on community relations and building meaningful connections between organizations and the people they serve.

For Kalani, serving on the NHSF board is both personal and forward-looking: an opportunity to give back to the community that supported him while helping create those same connections and opportunities for the students and alumni who follow.
