The New Haven Schools Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation dedicated to supporting schools in the New Haven Unified School District.
Our mission is to partner with parents, teachers and other District employees and other members of the New Haven community to raise money for scholarships, classroom grants and co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Our goal is to help the District succeed in its efforts to develop and empower every student to be productive, responsible and successful by creating an exemplary, inclusive educational system.
In 2018, the Foundation’s Pathways to Success program awarded a record-setting $140,000 in scholarships for our students.
The Foundation also sponsors Innovations in Education, a classroom grant program that provides money to teachers for special projects, and Project Enrichment, to support co-curricular and extracurricular activities. A new STEM-focused grant program was introduced in 2017. Grant awards are always subject to the budget, but in 2018 the Foundation awarded almost $50,000 in grants to teachers due to the generosity of donors.
